The Swedish duo will be joining already confirmed headliners Patti Smith and John Prine in August 2018.
Johanna and Klara will close the main stage on the Friday night of what promises to be an impressive weekend of roots and folk music in Cambridge.
Just last week the sisters released their latest record Ruins via Columbia Records and are headed for a top 10 chart position. For First Aid Kit’s set at Cambridge Folk Festival we can expect tracks off their previous studio albums as well as songs off the new record including latest single Fireworks.
Cambridge Folk Festival’s Neil Jones said: “The addition of First Aid Kit cements a line-up that is both one of our strongest and most eclectic in years. The band’s performance is set to be a real festival highlight this summer, and their Friday night headline appearance continues what is a new era for one of the UK’s most loved and iconic festivals.”
The festival will also be running the inaugural year of partnering with the Newport Folk Festival in the US. Cambridge Folk Festival is set to run from 2-5 August at Cherry Hinton Hall. Check out the full line-up announced so far:
