West Midlands hardcore four piece Fangs Out released their brand new EP The Humour In Hell this week and if you want to treat yourself this weekend – give it a listen!
The vicious and anthemic It’s Your Funeral sets the tone for EP, straight away the listener knows what they’re in for. Frontman Mikey White’s piercing vocals combined with melodic guitar riffs gives The Humour Is In Hell an endless source of hardcore energy.
Recently released single All The Best Drugs follows on swiftly picking up where the energy of It’s Your Funeral left off.
Speaking about the new single frontman Mikey White said āAll the best drugs is about my internal struggle with juggling on one hand the rock and roll dream of being a full time musician and on the other hand āreal lifeā, working a 9-5 to pay bills and support my family. The video was an absolute blast to make with the other boys in the band. I think we can all relate – at least occasionally – to being a fun-loving party werewolf by night only to have to turn back into a human by day, go to work and do the washing up!”
With Sabbath Town, Fangs Out pay tribute to hometown heroes Black Sabbath and Birmingham as one of the key birthplaces of heavy music. “This is in our blood, this is holy ground. We cut our fangs in Sabbath Town.” becomes almost anthemic as the track fades out and you just want to hit that repeat button again.
Throughout The Humour In Hell, Fangs Out’s third EP, the crisp vocals and neverending riffage leaves the listener wanting more, and potentially also needing to get their neck re-adjusted.
On the EP frontman Mikey says “Iāve always been the type of person to use humour and jokes to deal with difficult situations, or as a defence mechanism, instead of dealing with things head on. In my approach to lyrics Iām no different. Most of the songs on the EP deal with some personal – and at times pretty heavy – subject matter (except Sabbath Town – thatās just about the band raging in Birmingham) but portrayed in a very tongue-in-cheek way. It might not be healthiest way to deal with things, but itās my way of trying to find the light in the darkness or The Humour in Hell.”
So if you like your music heavy and catchy, give this EP a spin.
