Frank Turner @ Cambridge Corn Exchange, 16/09/2014

I love hearing new songs live. Because as much as I enjoy singing my little heart out to songs I know and love, new songs have this spirit of live music experienced for the first time. This gets even more special when the new songs aren’t even released yet. It gives them special status and you pay even more attention to the song to figure out if you like it or not. And also what you like about it.

Support from Koo Koo Kangaroo – these guys. I don’t even know how to explain any of it. It’s unicorns with bum bags on drugs sliding down a unicorn. In a nutshell. These crazy dudes from America could totally perform at a kids’ party and it wouldn’t be weird.

I’m going to make this short and sweet as I don’t want to give too much away of the new songs. Seeing Frank at a small venue is always special. And the Cambridge Corn Exchange is just one of those cute little venues that feel like home to him, and that feel like he just belongs there rather than on a massive arena stage. He deserves every bit of success he has earned because we know he has worked hard for it. So seeing him in the smaller venues feels like a treat, a special thank you on his part.
