It’s game on in Isi and Lewis’ latest video for new track Outlaws.
Alt-country duo Two Ways Home have released the music video for their brand new single Outlaws which has been described as ‘fantastic’ (Belles and Gals) and showcasing their ‘soaring instrumentation and luscious harmonies’ (Essex Chronicle). Plus, it’s the duo’s first ever stand-alone single that’s not been featured on any of their previous EPs.
Singer Isabella Mariee says about the music video, “Outlaws is primarily about our human desire for material wealth. We came up with the video idea whilst playing a human sized game of chess and realised it tied in lyrically with the song but was also a good metaphor for the physiological struggle between owning lots of material goods because they make you feel good but also them effectively “owning” you as some people can’t feel good without them.”
Other half of Two Ways Home, Lewis Fowler, adds: “The video cuts between this on-going chess game and scenes of Isi adorning herself in jewellery. For us these scenes represent the riches of the world and the hold they have over us. Ultimately she loses the chess game, which sums up the line: “You own diamonds like a Queen, but they rule you like a King”.”
Shot with Dave Proud at Proud Media Productions, who previously shot the lyric video for Two Ways Home’s previous single Best Part of Me, the video comes just ahead of the band’s next Round Up night at London’s Zigfrid von Underbelly with a full band on 13 December.
