Safe Gigs For Women teams up with Festival Republic for a safer festival season for all

Their team will be heading to various festivals across the summer, spreading the message that #ConsentRocks.

Safe Gigs For Women have been fighting the good fight for safer gigs across the UK, raising awareness of the fact that sometimes the fun you’re having at a show can be ruined by someone not understanding the idea of consent.

Their team aim to spread the word that it is not okay to grope, threaten or harass others, encourage victims to speak out, and supporters to advocate that this behaviour will not be tolerated. They also work with venues to ensure they take reports of sexual harassment and other threats to women (and all gig goers, for that matter) seriously. One of their most vocal supporters is English punk troubadour Frank Turner and folk singer Billy Bragg.

Safe Gigs For Women have now shared the huge news that they have partnered with festival giant Festival Republic to further spread the message at festivals across the UK this summer.

#ConsentRocks kicked off at Download Festival last weekend with support messages displayed across all stages, including the main stage, as well as a stand where festival goers were able to find advice if needed and help spread the word.

Be sure to keep an eye out for these guys and help them spread the word that #ConsentRocks and live music should be a safe space for everyone.
