Good Charlotte released their highly-anticipated seventh studio album Generation Rx via MDDN/ BMG on Friday. The band celebrated the release of the album with an extraordinary performance of their latest single Prayers on The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS.
The band also appeared in a hilarious skit alongside music guru James Corden, whose plan to elevate them from Good Charlotte to Great Charlotte through a collaboration with Dr. Phil doesn’t quite pan out. Watch Dr. Phil perform guest vocals on fan favourite Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous.
On 12 September Good Charlotte hosted a friends and family album release party at influential streetwear store Round Two in Los Angeles, CA. The event featured an intimate performance from Good Charlotte, DJ sets from Emo Nite, a merchandise museum, and pizza. The event follows the band’s recent merchandise collaboration with streetwear brand Chinatown Market.
The quintet craft intricate, yet infectious anthems of hope for a generation under the shadow of the Opioid epidemic, icons gone too soon, mass tragedy, loneliness, and confusion. Produced by Zakk Cervini and Benji during intimate sessions at MDDN headquarters, the record finds Good Charlotte doing what they do best—speaking directly to the youth.
Next month, Good Charlotte will embark on a massive North American Tour in support of Generation Rx that will kick off on 12 October in Mexico City, and wrap in November in Las Vegas, NV. Sleeping with Sirens, Knuckle Puck, and The Dose will provide support on the tour. Good Charlotte will return to the road in Europe and The UK for a tour kicking off 1 February 2019, including a date at London’s Alexandra Palace on 20 February.
