Huge vocals and catchy melodies anyone? Bang Bang Romeo have got just the thing for you.
Doncaster three-piece Bang Bang Romeo released their debut EP Shame On You last month via Five Seven Music. Speaking about the EP, vocalist Anastasia “Stars” Walker reveals, “This is a biggy, isn’t it? I mean, this EP includes songs that myself and Ross wrote when we were pretty much just kids, writing down lyrics at 3am whilst not catching up on enough sleep for school the next day, to songs we wrote in the land of Hollywood just round the corner from Sunset Boulevard in the Spring of 2018.
This EP represents a journey of hard work, passion, uncompromising belief and a hell of a lot of fun. From myself and the boys, on listening to the EP, enjoy, laugh, cry and love, we know we did. Here’s to the future and WELCOME to the BBRMY”.
Opening the EP is title track and recent break-through single Shame On You. It packs a punch and draws you right into the world of Bang Bang Romeo and hooked on the once in a lifetime vocals of lead singer Anastasia Walker. The radio-friendly track mixes indie, rock and pop elements to create the ideal recipe for success.
The uplifting Cemetery continues that trend and really bring home the mainstream appeal of this band. Adore Me is a key piece in highlighting the vocal talents of powerhouse Anastasia Walker. Lyrically the track does what it says on the tin, a repetition of “Do You Adore Me”, yet it doesn’t feel repetitive at all because you are so captivated by the performance and soaring guitars.
Bag Of Bones tells a whole different story, one of self-worth and realising the need for it. “I’m not a bag of bones, I’m so much more.” Stars calls out in the chorus. EP closer Chemical delivers raw emotion wrapped in an anthemic melody. If this track, especially its chorus, doesn’t give you goosebumps, your heart is cold – so cold.
With Shame On You Bang Bang Romeo have truly made their mark and delivered a stellar piece of music that will be sure to pave them the way to great success.
