Listen to Different Kinda Girl now.

The Pearl Hearts have released a video to new single Different Kinda Girl, a sharp shot of garage rock adrenaline which nods to the riot grrrl movement and 90s girl power.

Lyrically Different Kinda Girl pays homage to Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and paraphrases suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. Combining The Pearl Hearts’ trademark sound of riffing guitars, pounding drums and snarling vocals the band say “Different Kinda Girl is a fun and outspoken song about stepping out and not being afraid to be different, having the confidence to stay true to yourself and beliefs even if you are being squashed down, even if you have to fight,…. asserting your personality and being proud to stand up for who you are.”

Produced by Thomas Mitchener (Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes; Asylums) Different Kinda Girl is released ahead of the band’s U.K. headline tour.
