Mark Hoppus and Alex Gaskarth team up for new single ‘Drugs’

2019 has been blessed already – in the shape of Simple Creatures.

If there was ever a supergroup we wanted to make happen it’s this one. Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth have been busy in the studio under their new name Simple Creatures.

All Time Low had recently announced that they’d be taking a bit of a break in 2019, and now we know why. Besides their headlining of this year’s Slam Dunk Festival, the band hadn’t much else in their diaries. Earlier this week, both Alex and Mark took to their personal social media accounts to announce the news.

“Hey everybody! You might be wondering just what in the hell is going on with my socials right now,” Gaskarth writes. “Well, my good friend @markhoppus and I have been quietly making music together for a little while now and we’re finally ready to share it with ya. We’re calling this baby @simplecreatures and we’d like to invite you to join us for the ride. Our first song “Drug” will officially be out everywhere you can hear music when the clock hits midnight your local time. Go check out SIMPLECREATURESMUSIC DOT COM to hear it right fahkin’ now tho !! #simplecreatures” Gaskarth wrote.

Hoppus also announced that an EP is just around the corner. “So stoked to finally share @simplecreatures with the world!” he writes. “Alex and I have been working on this new band for a while, and our first single ‘Drug’ is available everywhere Thursday midnight, but you can hear it at SimpleCreaturesMusic dot com right now. EP1 coming in March! Join us, won’t you?”

On the supergroup’s social media accounts the first posts read: “Hi. We are Simple Creatures. We just woke up from a very long sleep. We have so much to tell you, but for the moment, all we can say is that we are glad you are here. We made music for you …It is Drug.”

From previous co-writes including All Time Low’s Tidal Waves, we know this is going to be epic and we are here for the ride.
