Taken off their forthcoming debut record Through Love & Death, You’re All I Have Left.
Scottish alternative emo quartet Dude Trips have revealed the lyric video for their new single ‘In Between Days’, the latest track to be taken from their debut album Through Love & Death, You’re All I Have Left released on 31 May 2019 via Side Mission Records.
The band will be embarking on a full UK headline tour in June/July 2019 with support from Brighton pop rock trio All Better, beginning with a special release show kicking things off on 8 June at Tunnels in Aberdeen.
Commenting on the track, bassist and vocalist Jamie Mathers says: “I remember being in the studio, hearing the pre-chorus and looking round to the band, and everybody had the feeling that this could be a single. Just that feel-good moment when creating music.”
“It started out being about missing someone when a long term relationship of mine struggled to stick. During the writing of the song it ended badly—from then on the main theme changed to anger. It’s probably the first song I had written for the record, and it blew my mind how different it was for us as a band musically. I’m a huge fan of Boston Manor, so I guess I was listening to them loads at the time.”
Since forming in late summer 2016, the band have so far released two EPs: Sad Lads—written on a whim in an attic, with the end goal of playing a single show in Aberdeen—and Keepsake, which was mostly written in a renovated granny flat. With forthcoming debut album Through Love And Death, You’re All I Have Left serving as the band’s first real fully formed piece of studio work, it’s a weightier affair than their previous records, whilst retaining the raw emotion of earlier releases.
Through Love & Death, You’re All I Have Left is released on 31 May 2019 via Side Mission Records.
