The singer also revealed a stunning cover of John Lennon’s Nobody Told Me.
This week singer-songwriter Margo Price updated fans on her new record That’s How Rumors Get Started, which was set for release on 8 May.
“Sometimes circumstances are beyond our control. I would say that’s the case for folks everywhere in the world right now. Life is postponed until further notice. I would love nothing more than for everyone to hear my next album in it’s entirety but it’s just not gonna be May 8th. More realistically, it’s going to be this summer. Even the record plants have halted production of vinyl. I want to be able to play this album live and tour with my band all over the world and I know that time will come. In the meantime, I’m still going to release some singles and be making lots of music for y’all anyway that I possibly can. Until then, take care of yourselves, be good to each other and this weary planet… and watch what you say and who you trust, because we all know… That’s How Rumors Get Started 🔮
xo, Margo”
Produced by longtime friend Sturgill Simpson (co-produced by Margo and David Ferguson), the LP marks Price’s debut for Loma Vista Recordings, and whether she’s singing of motherhood or the mythologies of stardom, Nashville gentrification or the national healthcare crisis, relationships or growing pains, she’s crafted a collection of music that invites people to listen closer than ever before.
Margo primarily cut That’s How Rumors Get Started at Los Angeles’ EastWest Studios (Pet Sounds, 9 to 5). Tracking occurred over several days while she was pregnant with daughter Ramona. “They’re both a creation process,” she says. “And I was being really good to my body and my mind during that time. I had a lot of clarity from sobriety.”
This week, Margo also shared a beautiful cover of the Beatles’ John Lennon and his track Nobody Told Me.
