Arkells release beautiful new version of ‘Years In The Making’

It’s acoustic and it’s everything we love about Arkells.

“You never know when the universe will deliver a tune from the song gods, but Years In The Making arrived just when we needed it” remarks Arkells’ frontman Max Kerman in response to the first new music from the band since 2018’s acclaimed Rally Cry; an album which led the six-time JUNO Award-winners to collect both Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year at last years’ ceremony.

“There’s a fierce optimism weaved throughout the jam,” he continues. “It leans on a question we keep coming back to: How do we conceive of everything we’ve been through, and shape it to offer some love and hope? Years In The Making is meant to encourage us to find ways to embrace the bumps in the road, because all of our challenges are ultimately there to help us work towards the dream – whatever that may be.”

Now the band have shared an acoustic version of this track and it’s a stunner, give it a spin below:

About the new track the band said:

We’re physically separated right now, but we’re always together in music.
Right now, we’re trying to be useful in our own small ways and find some comfort in things that make us feel good. Making and sharing music has always provided that comfort.

We recorded this acoustic version of Years In The Making at home in our own little makeshift studios, but the heart and feeling of connection is there more than ever. And that’s always been the most important part.

Enjoy it now. The chords and lyrics are here if you want to play along.
