Post-hardcore outfit Sleeping With Sirens brought all the bells and whistles to London as part of their CTRL+ALT+DLT tour.
Last October saw the release of Complete Collapse, Sleeping With Sirens’ seventh studio album as well as a following US headline tour with Don Broco, Point North and Garzi. But in March 2023 it was finally the UK’s turn to see their beloved scene band live again for the first time since before the pandemic and they brought none other than Static Dress and Charming Liars to the party.
Although getting anywhere in London on Wednesday was nothing short of a mission (hello, tube strike!) a packed out O2 Shepherds Bush was proof that nothing will stop you from seeing your favourite band, not even TfL. After two blazing support sets from Static Dress and Charming Liars, it’s time for Sleeping With Sirens to take the stage. But not before a series of nothing but ABBA songs blasts through the speakers of the west London venue.
Kicking things off with Break Me Down from 2019’s How It Feels To Be Lost, the night had plenty of memorable moments in store throughout the sixteen track set that spanned almost all of the band’s discography. Whether it’s brand new singles such as Crosses and Bloody Knuckles that go down a treat or fan favourites like Scene Five: With Ears to See, and Eyes to Hear, there’s something for everyone.
The stunning cover of the GooGoo Doll’s Iris is a perfect examples of one of the more mellow points during an otherwise incredibly energetic set. And to round the whole evening off when it comes to special moments, Sleeping With Sirens premiered their tour name sake single CTRL+ALT+DEL which wasn’t just any premier but on top of that also recorded the music video for it at the show, so stay tuned!
With just one song in the encore, Sleeping With Sirens send a very happy crowd of emos on their merry way. And what better way to send of a room full of scene kids? Play If You Can’t Hang. Hats off, Sleeping With Sirens, you never disappoint.
