Only The Poets take over a packed out Colours in London

Reading natives Only The Poets took over London’s Colours in Hoxton for a Saturday afternoon of pop-up shops and live performances.

In a packed out room, the excitement was brewing to boiling point as the audience eagerly awaited Only The Poets to take the stage – not before requesting Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” (aka the ten minute version) from the DJ though.

As the alt-pop four piece took to the stage the room exploded in a feverish joy, hands and phones in the air, singing at the top of 500 lungs and testiment to why the band’s headline tours this year both sold out.

Alongside tracks off their 2021 EP “demos.” the band also played a range of new singles, off their upcoming debut record which the band announced is set for release soon. If there ever was a Saturday afternoon gig that didn’t feel like a Saturday afternoon gig, this was it.

The crowd was entirely engrossed in the band’s performance, with rehearsed dances and a konga line included. As the band swap the stage for a performance in the middle of the room with nothing but phone lights and an acoustic guitar, it seems like it wasn’t just the phone torches that lit up.

Only The Poets have proven more than once that they are one of the UK’s hottest new acts to watch but their show at Colours, Hoxton has further cemented this undeniable rise to stardom that is imminent for them.
