Watch the heart-warming tribute to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington

Last night Linkin Park bandmates brought together artists to pay tribute to their late frontman.

With a memorial show at LA’s Hollywood Bowl, Linkin Park enlisted blink-182, System Of A Down and Korn‘s Jonathan Davis amongst many others to perform in honour of Chester Bennington who committed suicide in July this year after years of battlign depression.

The show marked the band’s first live performance since Chester’s death and all proceeds from the show will benefit Music for Relief’s ‘One More Light Fund’ in memory of Bennington.

In a special tribute from the fans, the crowd sang Chester’s vocal part to In The End in a spine-tingling, emotional farewell of their own. “Our special guest on this one is our favourite special guest of the whole night,” Mike Shinoda said. “And that’s fucked-up to say because of all these great people that have come out tonight, and if I say that, then that makes them look bad! But I do mean our favourite guests – it’s you guys,” he said to the crowd.

Bennington’s wife Talinda also gave an emotional speech remembering her late husband and celebrating his life and career, and his fans across the world, saying: “And to you Linkin Park’s fans, thank you. Chester always said Linkin Park fans were the best, and you know what, he was absolutely f*cking right. In the past fourteen weeks, you have lifted each other up. You have lifted me up. You have lifted our children up. From memorials around the world to supporting everyday as our family on Twitter, and spreading the love with the hashtags, #MakeChesterproud and #fuckdepression.”

Talinda adds: “Two of the things which brought Chester the most joy in life was spending time with his family, and doing whatever he could to help others. He was incredibly proud of the music done through relief, he knew it saved lives. And saving lives is exactly what we plan to do in Chester’s memory. It is time that we recognise that mental health is as important as our physical health. It is my mission to make it easier, to have access to mental health resources.”
